At the end of last year, Cartier Santos Replica Söhne took a bold step forward with the launch of the Odysseus, the brand's first ever series-produced watch in stainless steel. The brand has, of course, used steel in various limited or unique pieces, but the 2019 Odysseus is officially the first ever series-produced Cartier Santos Replica stainless steel watch from Lange&Hauser… and it remains the only one to date.
In 2020, the luxury watchmaker from Glashüte will launch the second model in the Odysseus family, this time moving away from the “steel sports watch” segment it entered last year, and instead returning to their bread and butter: precious metals.
Visually, the watch has the same design as the steel Odysseus, which was launched just six months ago. The case still measures 40.5 mm in diameter and 11.1 mm thick, but this time the material used has been changed Cartier Santos Replica to white gold. The two angular pushers on the side of the case perfectly surround the screw-down crown and accentuate the prominent shape of the three-part white gold case. If you remember well, topreplicawatch.co these pushers are used to correct the oversized day and date displays. The finishing on the case is still in keeping with what you would expect from Lange. The playful integration of brushed surfaces and polished bevels enhances the external complexity of the watch. Powering the watch remains the calibre L155.1 DATOMATIC manufacture movement, providing the wearer with a 50-hour power reserve.
The first noticeable change is the dial, which is now grey in colour and features a relief grooved structure with a different orientation to last year's Odysseus. Whereas the former model had a circular design below the hour markers and in the small seconds dial, here the pattern points to the centre of each dial. This textured effect is attractive and enhances the contrast with the polished, matt inner surface of the dial. To add a splash of colour to the overall monochrome appearance of the watch, the bevelled silver chapter ring displays a red ‘60’ at 12 o'clock.
